Monday in Art Opinion – It really doesn’t matter what medium you use; every artist can benefit from practicing 4 specific skills. What are they, you ask? Come back tomorrow and find out!
Tuesday in Featured Artists – Depicting sultry figures caught in a world of glitz and glam, Gina Higgin’s “American Noir” paintings are a contemporary take on French new wave film. Check out her paintings this Tuesday, and as always, feel free to submit your own art to be featured as well!
Wednesday in General Art Advice – Phawnda Moore returns with a few thoughts on traditional calligraphy versus more modern lettering styles of self-expression, as well as some suggestions on how to bridge the two.
Plus, we have a few more artists to showcase!
Just like last week, today we’d love to introduce you to three more of our newest (and very talented!) artists at Foliotwist:
Matthew Chatterley is an award-winning artist, illustrator, and art director whose works have appeared in major US newspapers and magazines. Browse through many of his past and present illustrations here.
Another excellent illustrator, Kyle Miller focuses on an entirely different genre: superheroes! Check out his full-color pieces of Wolverine or The Huntress.
And finally, Elena Rudinsky is an abstract artist who paints stylized, almost “filtered” interpretations of ordinary objects. Take a look at her gorgeous mosaic-style tea party painting, or view the rest of her paintings here.
Make sure to let them know if you like a particular painting or illustration—I’m sure they’d love to hear from you!
