I’m not an artist, but I’d like to nominate Scott Gearhart, a Portland artist who creates amazing abstract paintings, despite being a quadriplegic. He paints by holding the brushes in his mouth, and what he comes up with is incredible.
I found Scott’s paintings at a local church, where he’d started creating a series of artwork to go along with the pastor’s sermons. The one in particular I was impressed with, was the painting below that showed the 400 years of silence between the Christian old testamanent and new testament:
For such an abstract concept, it was an amazingly concrete representation – you could very easily see what he meant to portray.
Special thanks to Carl for emailing us and submitting that nomination. Make sure to check out the rest of Scott’s work as well!
