Happy New Year, folks! I hope you had a great time ringing out the old last night. :) Today, we’re taking another look at acrylic painter Marianne Hornbuckle’s colorful abstracts!
Marianne’s style has continued to evolve over the past 6 years, but I think the painting below, entitled Winter 1 , demonstrates perfectly where her work is headed now:
This piece’s metallic paint and roughly-textured surface combines to form a truly wonderful composition with both tactile and visual appeal. You’ll notice the same geometric, curving shapes and vibrant colors that were in Marianne’s work all those years ago, but showcased in more depth, detail, and skill than ever before.
I highly encourage you to follow Marianne on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest so you can stay up-to-date on her latest offerings, or simply visit her website to learn more about her paintings right now.
Enjoy the new year. . . we’ll see you here again tomorrow for our last artist update!
