It’s competition week on EmptyEasel!
If you dropped by EE last Friday you got an early notice, but for the rest of you, here’s the scoop—EmptyEasel.com has teamed up with ArtFlock.com to give away TWO custom-designed artist websites worth approximately $600 each!
Just to clarify, that means there will be two winners, of course, not one artist getting two free websites. : )
It’s very easy to enter the competition and it’s completely free. Here’s how it works:
1. Visit ArtFlock’s sign-up page and get a free membership account (or you can just log in if you’re already a member).
2. Upload at least one work of art to your profile—this is very important for step three.
3. Visit the main competition page on ArtFlock and choose one of your uploaded pieces to enter into the competition.
That’s all there is to it. The public will vote for their favorites over the next two weeks and the artists with the most votes will win.
You and everyone else can vote once per day during the competition, so it’s obviously beneficial to get involved early and often. If that’s not enough incentive to get your artwork in right now, keep in mind we’ll only be accepting artwork submissions until midnight on Thursday the 19th. After that, it’s voting only.
I’ll be doing my part to help you get votes by posting all of the competition artwork on EmptyEasel.com throughout this week.
And. . . although this isn’t technically part of the competition, I just might pick one of the contestants to be EmptyEasel’s featured artist next week, too. : )
By the way, for those of you who haven’t visited ArtFlock yet, I’d highly suggest checking them out.
If I had to categorize them, I’d say they’re part online art community and part organization tool for artists (you can list the galleries that show your art, import your blog, etc) as well as being a full-blown marketplace for original art and craft—yet it’s still completely free to join, at least for the basic account.
When you sell your art, commission rates start at 3.5% and there are no listing fees of any kind. Plus, with the new “Website Publisher” tool they’ve just added, it’s now possible to create and update your own website directly through ArtFlock.com.
All that to say, when you enter the competition, you should definitely take the time to browse around a bit too. I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.
