It’s painting week here at EmptyEasel! :)
If you’ve been caught up in the hustle and bustle of the new year and haven’t sat down at the easel since 2013, then now is the perfect time to dust off those brushes and get painting.
Enjoy the tutorials for each day (and don’t miss this year’s survey, either!)
Monday in Painting Tutorials – Brandi Bowman will demonstrate how to simplify any landscape, so you can perfectly capture the colors and feel of a place without needing to paint every little detail.
Tuesday in Painting Tutorials – Make sure to tune in on Tuesday for Michelle Morris’s latest article—she’ll be explaining how to correctly mount watercolor paper to your painting support, so that it won’t wrinkle while you paint.
Wednesday in Featured Artists – Drop by for a look at Tami Hort’s beautifully realistic portrait paintings in oil and pastel. As always, if you’d like your own artwork to be featured on EE, send it in!
Thursday in Painting Tutorials – Finish out the week with Adriana Guidi’s exploration into the world of limited painting palettes, featuring the four-color palette famously used by Anders Zorn.
Are you an artist? Stand up and be counted!
This January we’ve decided to try to learn more about our own global artist community.
Please take a minute and participate in this year’s Art World Survey. Your input is greatly appreciated, and will be used along with thousands of other responses to paint a unique “picture” of today’s working artist.
Thank you in advance for being a part of this project!
