Holiday Post #15, from Elizabeth Barton

By admin in Research > Art Websites

This post is part of EmptyEasel’s “spread the holiday cheer” experiment, where we’ve simply invited everyone to share their three favorite artists or art websites.

Here’s what Elizabeth Barton had to say:

“I really like blogs that give a little slice of the person’s life in a fresh and very personal voice. Here are the three that I visit the most.

1. Cornwall Cam at www.CornwallCam.co.uk

I once went to a beautiful artist’s retreat in Cornwall and this artist’s photographs are wonderful—he presents them very cleanly and you can scroll through several very quickly with no fuss.

He shows landscapes, large and small, and people and everything he sees. He’s out there photographing in every weather situation and you get a great sense of the weather and the light.

2. Laurelines Drawings & Paintings at Laurelines.typepad.com

This artist has lovely little drawings that just capture what she sees in her life. With an economy of line and colour, she gives us a glimpse into her sketchbook. The baby pictures are gorgeous without being in the least sentimental.

3. Deb Lacativa’s blog at morewgalo.blogspot.com
Deb has a wry sense of humour, she takes her art seriously (but not herself) and is determined to follow her own vision however wacky!

And of course I love Empty Easel!!!”
