This Week: 4/15 through 4/21

By admin in Weekly Preview

Monday – Is the art market getting too saturated? Tomorrow I’ll talk about that and other ramifications that technology and the internet might have on artists—especially for those who want to start making a living from their work.

TuesdayPiet Mondrian’s geometric, abstract artwork has always been fascinating to me. On Tuesday I’ll cover some aspects of his life and highlight his artistic transformation by showing several of his paintings in chronological order.

Wednesday – As I’ve done once or twice in the past, I’ll be taking time on Wednesday to point out another great art website that I think you’d all enjoy. If you like illustration, web comics, and great artwork, you won’t want to miss this article.

Thursday – This week’s featured artist is Jeff Cohen, a painter who seems to have found the perfect blend of realism and geometric abstraction, in a very unique way.

Friday – On Friday I’ll be continuing my series of articles on the meanings of colors. This week: the passion and power of red.

Saturday – Did you catch my last cartoon? Another departure for me, stylistically, but very fun to do. Look for more caricatures this coming weekend as well. . .
