This Week: 4/3 through 4/9

Published on Apr. 3rd 2011

Monday in Video Tutorials - Tomorrow, Linda Baker will demonstrate a very effective “pouring” technique for watercolors, using only a layer of masking and the 3 primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) to create a gorgeous painting.

Tuesday in Painting Tutorials - Gail Stivers was kind enough to send us an easy, low-cost method for adding more texture to a painting, so make sure to look for that article this Tuesday in the tutorial section.

Wednesday in Featured Artists - Drop in on Wednesday to read about Paige Wallis, a very talented painter with an eye for bold color and dynamic compositions. If you’d like to submit your own artwork to be featured on EmptyEasel, we accept new submissions right here every week.

Thursday in Art Marketing Tips - Alyice Edrich has prepared another excellent tutorial for artists with their own blogs—this time, she’ll be showing you how to hand-pick and display a few of your favorite posts in your blog sidebar.

Friday in Art Opinion - At the end of the week, Karen Middleton will share an honest account of her experiences at a trade fair in Bologna, Italy. As she quickly found out, art marketing is not for the faint of heart. . . and a positive attitude helps too!
