This week's featured painter, Cindy Revell, proves that art and humor go hand in hand by combining the perfect touch of whimsy with her skills in oil painting. Fuzzy leopard heels, a tipsy pear. . . they're all beautiful paintings that you really have to see for yourself.
Today's featured artist is Linda Apple, a daily painter from Ohio whose most recent paintings are a collection of quick, almost snapshot scenes from her daily life - usually of people wrapped up in their own world.
This week's featured artist is Vic Vicini, a member of the daily painters whose artwork depicts retro diner scenes, food, and the occasional classic car. Most of all, Vicini has a knack for painting glossy, reflective surfaces—he makes it all look easy as pie.
This week's featured artist is Jennifer Young, an oil painter from Richmond, Virginia. Jennifer works almost exclusively in landscapes, many of which are painted en plein air from the Virginia countryside.
This week's featured artist is Jiddje Straatsma, a graphic designer and painter from Friesland, Holland. I really enjoy Jiddje's landscape and still life paintings, especially those that show some of the unique qualities of his home province.
Today's featured artist is Jan Blencowe, a plein air painter from Connecticut who also happens to be a long-time art blogger with not one, but TWO art blogs, Art & Life and The Painting a Day Project.
This week's final featured artist is Louis Dilts, a Colorado painter in oil, pastel, and watercolor. I didn't actually find a lot of pieces on his website, but out of the few I saw, I really enjoyed the expressive qualities of two paintings in particular.
Today’s featured painter is Janet Vanderhoof, a California artist whose paintings are full of color, life, and often brilliant sunlight....
This week's second featured artist is Michael Defrancesco, a former freelance illustrator turned art teacher and oil painter. In his email Michael said that he "loves to paint old things. . . especially BARNS," and it certainly shows. Most of Michael's paintings are of fields or farmland, with buildings tucked away into the landscape like they've grown up there over the years.
Today’s featured artist is Tina Sotis, an oil painter from Massachusetts. When I first saw Tina’s paintings I was immediately...
Paul Keysar is a North Carolina artist who primarily paints landscapes and still lifes. His painting style is very realistic...
Today's featured artist is Robin Kibby, a painter from the San Francisco Bay area. Robin's paintings really appealed to me since I've always been a fan of urban landscapes as well as the geometric patterns and very logical compositions that present themselves in man-made objects.
