Have you ever come across a product that isn’t necessarily intended for artists, but as soon as you see it, you think “wow. . . I could use that a hundred different ways in the studio!”
That’s exactly how I feel about IdeaPaint Clear.
IdeaPaint is a company that makes dry erase paint. They sell the typical white dry erase paint, along with a magnetic version, and some pretty cool dry erase easels, but what’s really got my imagination fired up is the CLEAR version of their product.
You can roll IdeaPaint Clear onto any smooth wall or colored surface, and create your own custom playground for dry erase markers.
As soon as I saw it, I started thinking about the possibilities—could you roll this onto your own artwork (either a print, or an original) and create remixes of previous work? What about making the entire wall of your studio into a giant sketchpad?
They give some examples of the surfaces you can use: aluminum, wood, chalkboard, plastic. . . and the list goes on.
All in all, it just seems like an incredibly fun way to push your creativity outside the bounds of the sketchpad or canvas. Especially for kids (art teachers, take note!)
Head on over to IdeaPaint to learn more, or buy it on Amazon.
