This Week: 2/3 through 2/9

Published Feb. 2nd 2008

Monday in Art Opinion - Many artists who display their artwork online choose to do so with a prominent watermark across the image—but is that really necessary? Tomorrow I’ll give my point of view, both as an artist AND as someone who simply looks at a lot of art online.

Tuesday in Selling Art Online - Last week I began a new series of articles on EmptyEasel entitled Adwords for Artists. On Tuesday I’ll continue that series by showing how my first few weeks of online advertising have gone and what I’ve learned so far that might be beneficial to artists.

Wednesday in Featured Artists - If you like great brushwork and unique compositions, you won’t want to miss this week’s featured paintings by Robin Cheers. Drop in on Wednesday for that, and while you’re here, don’t forget to submit your own artwork to be featured as well.

Thursday in General Art Advice - Come back Thursday for a very thorough and informative article on mat cutting by Robert Sloan. If you’ve ever wanted to cut custom mats for your artwork instead of paying someone else to do it for you, these step-by-step instructions will do the trick.

Friday in Artist Polls - Where do YOU get your inspiration for art? Nature? Your imagination? Other artists? Click here to vote, I’ll post the results on Friday.
