This Week: 3/1 through 3/7

Published on Mar. 1st 2009

Monday in Art Marketing Tips - In tomorrow’s reader-submitted article, Gregory Peters explains how an artist’s “brand” can actually be much more than just a logomark or stylized signature. This is a great article and I highly recommend it for any artist who wants to stand out from the crowd.

Tuesday in Painting Tutorials - Dianne Mize has come up with several ways that artists can use visual counterpoint (a term that applies to art as well as music) in their compositions. Check back for that tutorial on Tuesday.

Wednesday in Featured Artists - This week I’ll be featuring Shannon Willis, a mixed-media painter who finds inspiration from old walls, crumbling buildings and other natural effects of the passage of time. If you like texture, you won’t want to miss it.

Thursday in SEO for Artists - I’ve often mentioned that I use Google Analytics to keep track of EmptyEasel.com’s web traffic, but on Thursday I’ll explain why every online artist should be using it—no matter how much traffic your website or blog gets.

Friday in Motivation - Dianne Panarelli Miller is a full-time mom as well as an artist, but she still manages to focus completely on her art for at least one week per year. How? She takes a quick painting trip to Bermuda during the tourist off-season (when everything’s a little cheaper). Get the full story on Friday.
