As promised (albeit a little later than I anticipated) the new design for EmptyEasel is now live. Take a look around and please let me know what you think!
Monday in Announcements - Instead of going on and on about the redesign today I’ve decided to give everyone the guided tour tomorrow in a regular blog post. Drop on by if you’re interested.
Tuesday in Drawing Tips - Dianne Mize has a good drawing excercise in store for all of us this Tuesday—if you’ve ever struggled with getting the right perspective in a drawing, this is the tutorial for you.
Wednesday in Featured Artists - EmptyEasel’s featured artist this week is Jonathan Matthews, an Alabama painter who successfully mixes his own contemporary style with a much more traditional subject matter—the human figure.
Thursday in Motivation - This week’s reader-submitted article by Lori Woodward Simons describes the struggle that many self-employed people face on a daily basis: choosing between freedom (and fun) or self-discipline (i.e., work). It’s a good article, and well-worth coming back for on Thursday.
Friday in GIMP Help - Margot Dinardi’s latest GIMP tutorial (due out this Friday) will show you how to make a regular photo look like an authentic sepia toned print.
Plus, as you’ll notice, all GIMP articles now have their own category here on EmptyEasel—so feel free to look through her other tutorials as well.
Is there anything you’d like to share on EE? Send it in!
EmptyEasel is proud to publish reader-submitted articles nearly every week. Please submit your own article here or learn why you might want to .
Please
stumble it so others will find it or check out the related posts below.

Slight change of plans today, folks—originally I was going to publish a reader-submitted article entitled "What is Art?" but after more consideration I decided that it drew a little too heavily on quotes from Wikipedia and other online sources. I guess I just wanted more personal opinion and l. . .

Wow. Two years. . . Not a long time in the grand scheme of things, but it still seems like a lifetime ago that I first installed Wordpress onto my shared hosting plan and began writing to the world. For those of you that blog on a regular basis, you can probably relate. And as EmptyEasel.com c. . .
