This Week: 10/5 through 10/11

Published on Oct. 5th 2008

Hey folks—this week will be a bit different from normal on EE because instead of posting articles I’ll be working on the site itself. Here’s what to expect if you drop in:

A new look for EmptyEasel.

As some of you may already know, over the past few months I’ve been working on a new design and layout for EmptyEasel.com.

I deliberately stayed away from making any drastic changes (so it should still feel like EE) but at the same time I think this redesign is a big step up from the current version in both usability AND aesthetics.

I’m not sure which day I’ll make the switch over to the new design, but when I do there may be a few bugs to work out before everything’s completely functional.

If you happen to notice something strange, feel free to send me an email at EmptyEasel@gmail.com and let me know. I’ll try to fix it as soon as possible.

Also—I’ll be switching to a better hosting provider.

I decided that as long as I was upgrading the design I might as well switch to a better web host. Hopefully this will make it easier for everyone to have quick access to EmptyEasel.com even during our highest traffic periods.

If for some reason you feel like it’s taking longer to get on EmptyEasel after the upgrade, let me know. I may need to try a few hosts before settling on one for good.

Other than that, nothing’s changing.

As long as everything goes to plan we’ll be back on schedule next week.

In the meantime, you should still be able to access all past articles on EmptyEasel. I don’t expect any major downtime, even when switching hosts.

Here are last week’s articles if you missed them:
