This Week: 2/10 through 2/16

Published on Feb. 9th 2008

Monday in Art Opinion - As public interest in the US presidential race continues to grow, I’ve noticed similarities in how the mainstream media’s influence has waned in the political realm just as it has in the art realm. More on that, tomorrow.

Tuesday in Selling Art Online - Continuing in my Adwords for Artists series, this Tuesday I’ll head back into the Adwords control panel to show you some of the tools that you’ll have at your disposal if you choose to advertise your art through Google.

Wednesday in Featured Artists - Her artwork is colorful, painterly, and occasionally whimsical. . . Plus, it’s all done in wool. Come back this Wednesday to learn more about Scottish artist Moy Mackay’s amazing textile art.

Thursday in General Art Advice - MaryAnn Cleary sent in a great little tutorial last week that shows how to put together a cheap yet exceptionally functional brush cleaning jar. If you’re a do-it-yourself type of person (or if you just need a better way to clean oil paint out of your brushes) then you’ll like this article.

Friday in Artist Polls - On average, what price do you put on your artwork? It doesn’t even matter if your art has sold for that amount—I just think it’d be fascinating to see what everyone is asking these days.

Well, fascinating and completely unscientific, of course, since we all make different types of artwork. : ) Vote now or just check the results so far.
