This Week: 3/22 through 3/28

By admin in Weekly Preview

I’ve got some exciting news for all of you, but first, let me just say that this week isn’t going to be a normal week at EE. My apologies for that in advance.

OK, so here’s the deal:

As some of you already know, for the last year or so I’ve been working on creating a new product/service for artists which (I hope) will change the way that artists market and sell their art online.

It’s been a long time coming, but at last it’s finally finished! Well, mostly.

This week I’ll be testing and tweaking the final product in addition to writing a lot of the informational and instructional documents to go along with it. Unfortunately this means that I won’t be able to publish any new articles on EmptyEasel until March 28th, at which point we’ll resume our normally schedule programming. :)

So what’s the cost of this new thingamajig?

That’s the other good news—the price will be a dollar a day or less , depending on a few factors. We’re still finalizing those details, but it’s definitely going to be affordable.

As to what it is, exactly. . . I like to think of it as a Swiss Army Knife for artists who want to sell their art over the internet. In other words, we looked around at everything that an artist actually needs to be successful online, and put all those things into a single, easy-to-use product.

For instance, you’ll be able to promote your art in a few different ways (as much or as little as you’d like), display ALL your art (there will be no image-uploading limits) and sell your artwork directly to buyers (meaning no commission fees).

And that’s just what it allows you to do.

Everyone who joins will also get access to a growing library of articles and tutorials (on art marketing, SEO, regular marketing, etc) which are written specifically for use with our product. You’ll never again have to figure out how to apply generic advice to your own situation, because we’ll be writing for the very product that you’re using.

We’ve also created a community forum for members to swap stories, share techniques, and give us feedback about the product. My business partner and I will be heavily involved with the day-to-day operation of this service and with the forum, so you’ll be able to pick our brains and get help that way too.

Obviously, there’s a lot more to talk about, but for now I’m going to clam up and get back to work. Once we get things completely finalized I’ll be able to share additional details, like some screenshots of the interface and the name we’ve chosen for it.

Feel free to follow me on Twitter or just keep an eye out for that information in the EE newsletter as we get closer to our planned launch date of April 2nd.
