This Week: 1/6 through 1/12

By admin in Weekly Preview

Monday in Selling Art Online – Sometimes the path to selling art via your own website is more roundabout than you’d think—tomorrow I’ll talk about what it means to create an “authority” website in your niche, and explain why you might want to.

Tuesday in Photoshop Tricks – There are several ways to increase contrast and enhance the colors of your photos or artwork in Adobe Photoshop, and yet the best method I’ve found is using the “curves” tool. Come back Tuesday for that tutorial.

Wednesday in Featured Artists – This week’s featured artist paints with oils, watercolors, and pastels, but I’ve decided to limit myself and simply show a few of his watercolor scenes from around the world. One thing’s for sure, though—if you like beautiful landscapes and architectural pieces, you won’t want to miss it.

Thursday in Art Opinion – After attending a course on abstract painting, Bernard Victor has kindly written an article describing some of the exercises and methods they used, and I’ll be posting that on Thursday. It’s a good read, especially if you like the creative processes behind abstract art.

Friday in Artist Polls – I’m sure that those of you who have been reading EE for a while now won’t be surprised at this week’s poll question:

How many of you have your own art blog? And, if you do: What blogging program do you use? Vote here.

Plus here’s something I thought a few of you might like to know—Boundless Gallery (one of the better online art galleries I’ve reviewed in the past, here and here) is offering a 15% discount to EmptyEasel readers who use this code – ‘EE15’ – at signup.

If you’re interested, you can read my reviews or visit their website to learn more.

I also just realized that last week’s newsletter had a few links which didn’t match up quite right with my articles—I’ll try to make them all work correctly this time. : )
