This Week: 11/18 through 11/24

By admin in Weekly Preview

Monday in Selling Art Online – Remember the whole Sistino/Artist Rising debacle? Well, the two websites have finally merged—as was promised back in July—to bring us the best of both. Tomorrow’s article will cover what’s new on ArtistRising.com and let you know if it’s better or worse than its previous incarnations.

Tuesday in Art Movements – Romanticism was an important art movement not just in the visual art world, but in the literary world as well. Tuesday I’ll point out some of the leading Romantic artists and artwork, and explain what Romanticism was all about.

Wednesday in Featured Artists – Greg Marquez is a watercolor painter with a unique ambition—to document some of the changes that humanity has brought to nature. Drop in on Wednesday for the full story, and feel free to submit your own artwork if you’d like to be featured as well.

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day (here in the US at least) so I won’t be posting a new article. Instead I’m pretty sure I’ll be working on some turkey and pumpkin pie. : )

Friday in Art Opinion – Karen Cooper writes about the “Daily Painting” movement and poses an important question. . . come back at the end of the week for that.

Plus, make your opinion count with EmptyEasel’s NEW weekly poll. Here’s this week’s question (I decided to start off with an easy one):

Which art supply company would you MOST recommend to other artists?

There are currently four options to choose from but you can also add your own favorite art store to the list and (of course) see where everyone else shops. Vote now!
