This Week: 12/4 through 12/9

By admin in Weekly Preview

This week a lot of the topics will center around drawing. I believe drawing is an integral part of art, as well as the primary way artists can record and interact with the world on a daily basis.

Although drawing may seem like a simple subject, I am sure you will enjoy the week ahead.

Monday – Most of us love to draw as children, but grow out of it when we mature but our drawings don’t. The truth is, anyone can learn to draw. This Monday I’ll talk about the mistakes that a lot of people make when starting out, as well as some unrealistic beliefs we tend to have about artists and their abilities.

TuesdayLeonardo da Vinci: Artist, Inventor, or Scientist? More than just a great painter who known for the Mona Lisa, Leonardo Da Vinci tried his hand at everything. I’ll briefly cover his life and philosophy in Tuesday’s article.

WednesdayDigital drawing has never been easier. If you’re still using a mouse to create art on your computer, you might want to look into a Wacom tablet. These can greatly decrease the amount of time it takes to complete a digital drawing, painting, or cartoon, making them invaluable for commercial artists and illustrators. I’ll let you know about a few of the models you can choose from, and what the price range is.

Thursday – I’ll be posting the update on my original review of Imagekind from last week, along with any opinions or submissions I receive from those of you who have used their services. Let me know about your experiences with them at my contact page.

Friday – This week‘s How To article is simply How to Draw What you See. I’ll include images and a step-by-step process that will help you to draw anything at all. I still use many of these techniques, and I guarantee they’ll work for you too.
